From milestones achieved to memories made, this year gave SMWD so much to celebrate. As the year drew to a close, the agency took a moment to pause, reflect, and come together for its highly anticipated year-end celebration.
The afternoon of December 19, 2025 was filled with fun and playful energy as SMWD hosted a cartoon-themed year-end party at Brick House Gardens in Buenavista, Santa Maria, Bulacan. The event brought together SMWD employees and members of the Board of Directors for an afternoon of laughter, creativity, and camaraderie.
The celebration formally began with an opening prayer led by the Vice-Chairperson of the Board, Dir. Catalina M. Halili, followed by a warm welcome message from the Chairperson of the Board, Dir. Ana Liza C. Ramirez. One of the most anticipated highlights of the program was the Cartoon Couture Walk and photo opportunity, where employees from each section confidently showcased their cartoon character-inspired outfits. From Disney classics to Marvel heroes and anime favorites, the vibrant costumes set the tone for a festive and joyful celebration enjoyed by everyone.
To keep the energy high, each department performed a special number, adding excitement and entertainment to the event. The thrill of the celebration was further enhanced by raffle prizes, with lucky employees walking away with exciting rewards. The winners of the 14th Inter-Color Bowling Tournament were also awarded with medals, plaques, and cash prizes. Special recognition was given to those with the best costumes, ensuring that every participant felt celebrated.
Another significant moment of the evening was the launch of the maiden issue of SMWD’s official newsletter and news magazine, Inside the Pipeline. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by the General Manager, Engr. Carlos N. Santos Jr., alongside the Honorable Guest, Cong. Ador Pleyto of the 6th District of Bulacan. The event also marked the formal introduction of the SMWD Publication Team, a new milestone in the agency’s journey to foster communication and collaboration.
The program concluded with heartfelt closing remarks from the dedicated General Manager, Engr. Carlos N. Santos Jr., who extended warm Christmas greetings to all, inviting everyone to enjoy the rest of the evening.
The celebration continued even after the event, as each employee received a Christmas giveaway from the agency, a token of appreciation for their hard work and commitment.
As we bid farewell to a year filled with accomplishments, let us take with us the lessons learned and the bonds forged. May the spirit of unity, creativity, and gratitude carry us into the new year, inspiring us to continue reaching new heights and making a positive impact, not only within SMWD but also in the community we serve.
