In September 2024, the Santa Maria Water District commemorated its 38th anniversary over a period of a month. The festivities began with a social media campaign in which employees updated their profile pictures with the anniversary frame and caption demonstrating their support. The dedicated employees were also encouraged to share their personal memories and were engaged in an online interactive game held every Friday throughout the month. The objective of this campaign was to draw awareness to SMWD’s 38 years of outstanding service and dedication to the people of Santa Maria and other neighboring towns in Bulacan.
On September 27, 2024, the workday at SMWD was shortened to 12 noon to give everyone ample time to prepare for the thanksgiving mass and anniversary celebration. At 3 PM, all employees, including the Board of Directors and General Manager, along with special guest Hon. Miguela Pleyto, gathered at the SMWD Lobby for the thanksgiving mass presided by Fr. Menald Leonardo. Following the mass, two new vehicles owned by the agency were blessed in front of the building in the lead of the Board of Directors and other managers.
Following the blessing, all proceeded to One Santiago Park to officially join the 38th anniversary celebration program. The registration began at 4:30 PM, and the program commenced at 5 PM graced by the BOD Chairperson Amelia S. De Jesus. Before the program started, all divisions were provided the opportunity for a group photo with the BODs and General Manager. This was followed by the presentation of Service Awards to employees and Board of Directors celebrating career milestones at SMWD:
Additionally, employees were also recognized for their Perfect Attendance in 202.:
On the other hand, the awarding still went on as other awards were presented to different employees, including recognitions for the Biggest Loser program organized by the Gender and Development Committee. The employees who also had an outstanding contribution and engagement during the anniversary were acknowledged.
After the awards, the new employees showcased their talent in dancing as part of SMWD’s tradition. The program concluded with remarks from the General Manager, Engr. Carlos Santos, Jr., who encouraged everyone to just enjoy and relax for the rest of the evening.
This anniversary was a noteworthy occasion for everyone at SMWD. It served as a potent reminder of their shared belief that “Service Means Water Delivered.” Moreover, as they commemorated another blessed year, the agency became more motivated to explore new ways to improve their services and ensure that they provide the best possible water supply to their concessionaires.
