The celebration kicked off as the decoration committee set up valentine’s themed decoration in the office, feeling the spirit of love during the Valentine’s Day for both employees and concessionaires.

The Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) prepared engaging activities during that day to add love to the vibe. The valentine’s dress code was a yearly activity where employees can express their emotional status or mood of the day by wearing different colors of shirt. The colours are: 1) Red for In Love; 2) Black for Brokenhearted; 3) Pink for Self-Love; 4) Orange for Moving On; 5) Violet for It’s Complicated; 6) Gray for Hoping; 7) Blue for NBSB / NGSB; 8) Yellow for Single and Ready to Mingle; 9) Green for Bitter; 10) Brown for Friend Zone; 11) White for Career First; 12) Stripes for Mixed Signals; and Uniform for Kill Joy. Based on the reports, 57 employees proudly wore red, signifying that they are happily in love, while 36 employees chose white, prioritizing their careers. Less than 10 employees wore other colors, representing their various relationship status. Meanwhile, 11 employees opted for their office uniform.

To make the day even more interactive, song request and dedication letter boxes were placed at the Employees’ Lobby. Requests were played over the office speakers, and dedication letters were delivered to their intended recipients.

One of the events highlights was the special edition of SMWD Radio: Valentines Special, featuring Mr. Jon Mar Cruz from Human Resource, who took on the role of DJ for the day. With his engaging and effective speech delivery skills, he entertained employees by playing song requests and reading dedication letters, making it feel like a real radio broadcast echoing throughout the building.

As a sweet gesture, Valentine’s tokens were distributed to employees, concessionaires, and outsourced personnel. A total of two hundred (400) concessionaires, who had their transactions that day, received a chocolate rose. On the other hand, all SMWD employees and the outsourced personnel received a chocolate filled with love and sweetness. Recipients were also invited for a photo opportunity holding what they received.

The Valentine’s celebration at SMWD was truly a memorable occasion, spreading love, laughter, and appreciation among everyone. ❤
