“Bayanihan sa Katubigan, Krisis sa Klima Labanan!”

The Santa Maria Water District (SMWD) join the nation in celebrating World Water Day 2025 with the theme, “Bayanihan sa Katubigan, Krisis sa Klima Labanan!” This celebration aims to emphasize the importance of water conservation while raising awareness about the urgent challenges posed by climate change.

As part of the celebration, SMWD organized a Poster-Making Contest to its employees with the sub-theme “Isang Laban, Isang Bayan para sa Malinis na Katubigan” held on March 21, 2025, at the SMWD New Building, the contest served as a platform for participants to express their creativity and advocacy for clean water and environmental protection.

Out of all the impressive entries, Mr. Mark Anthony Jimenez from Maintenance Division was declared the Champion for his outstanding artwork, which creatively conveyed the essence of the theme. Their poster stood out for its originality, artistic technique, and impactful message that resonated with both the judges and the audience.

We also recognize the remarkable talents of our runners-up:

1st Runner-Up: Ms. Elymargeline Ramos (Administrative Division)

2nd Runner-Up: Mr. Reymark Flores (Finance Division)

3rd Runner-Up: Mr. Rod Dejos (Administrative Division)

SMWD extends its heartfelt appreciation to all participants, judges, and organizers who contributed to the success of this event. Your creativity and passion serve as an inspiration to the community in advocating for water conservation and climate action.

Their art piece is posted in the bulletin board in the lobby of SMWD Building.

In addition, the official World Water Day 2025 streamer was displayed on SMWD’s official website and at the front of the SMWD Building to further promote awareness of this important cause.
