The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), lead the 2024 18-day campaign to end violence against women from November 25, 2024 to December 12, 2024. In support to the campaign, the Santa Maria Water District joins and observe different activities in observance of the campaign.

As part of the activities, we begin by promoting the campaign through posting the 2024 campaign background on the official website of Santa Maria Water District.

To further support this campaign, we launch the “Orange Campaign”, as the kick-off activity for the campaign where all employees are encouraged to wear orange; either shirt or accessories on November 25, 2024. The United Nation “UNiTE by 2030 to end VAW” Campaign uses orange to represent a bright and optimistic future that is free from violence against women and girls.

Informative leaflets were distributed to concessionaires who pay their bills during the campaign period. These materials contained information about the Republic Act No. 9262. This initiative aims to raise awareness about the disease. In addition, meter readers extend the campaign’s reach by delivering the materials directly to households. These are provided alongside their monthly water bills and copies of the “Super Patak Volume 1” comic strip, which creatively addresses issues such as meter tampering.

The campaign is not limited to external stakeholders. Informational materials are also distributed to office-based employees to foster greater awareness within the workplace. Educating employees about the campaign’s purpose and importance ensures that they not only support its objectives but also serve as advocates in spreading its message within their communities.

By involving employees and concessionaires, this initiative seeks to create a more informed and empowered community, united in the goal of ending violence against women and promoting a brighter, violence-free future for all.
